Four-way active chilled beam
$0.00
PremiAir is an air- and water-based induction unit with four-way air diffusion, recommended for a wide range of commercial applications—such as office buildings, shopping centers, retail
stores, restaurants, and hotels—where a combination of ventilation, cooling, and/or heating is required. PremiAir is designed primarily for false-ceiling installations, but is also available with
an optional Coanda frame, or can be supplied with a powder-coated housing for visible mounting. For added flexibility, PremiAir can be delivered with adjustable nozzles that enable reconfiguration of the primary airflow at any time to meet changing space requirements. The nozzles are positioned to maximize the coil’s capacity and optimally mix the primary supply air with the induced room air. This results in a well-conditioned space, enhancing both thermal and acoustic comfort for occupants. For additional flexibility and efficiency, PremiAir can be equipped with a digital controller specifically developed for DCV (Demand-Controlled Ventilation) requirements.
Function
The function of active chilled beams is based on the wellknown induction principle. The primary (dried) air from the air handling unit is injected into the plenum box within the active chilled beam and distributed through specially shaped nozzles. As the air is discharged through these nozzles, the high-velocity air jets above the coil create a low-pressure zone, which draws ambient room air through the coil. As it passes the coil fins, this drawn-in air is conditioned (cooled or heated) according to the water temperature in the coil. The conditioned air then mixes with the air jets before being discharged back into the occupied space. The careful placement and shape of the nozzles have a major impact on both the performance of the chilled beam and its sound emissions. It is important that the primary air from the air handling unit is sufficiently dry to maintain a low indoor dew point and prevent condensation. Because water is a more effective medium for heat transfer compared to air, chilled beams are an outstanding energy-efficient solution, reducing the overall energy needed for cooling, heating, and ventilation.
Features
Applications
Chilled beams are a versatile ventilation solutions that provide efficient heating, cooling, and ventilation for various commercial settings. They are particularly effective in environments where maintaining high indoor air quality and energy efficiency is important. Applications include office buildings, shopping malls, retail stores, restaurants, and hotels.
Applied materials and finish
The visible front panel is made of galvanized steel, with circular perforation holes as standard. The outer coanda frame is made of aluminum. All visible parts are powder coated in standard white RAL 9003 color. The plenum box is made of galvanized steel, with a rubber sealing on the air connection spigot. The heat exchanger consists of copper and aluminium. The AirFlex air deflectors are made of Polyamide (PA) plastic.
Adjustable nozzles
Airvent chilled beams can also be supplied with adjustable nozzles, a unique, elegant and flexible feature for changing the nozzle positions on each side of the plenum box, in order to set the required airflow, without modifying the primary air pressure. With the use of a simple Allen wrench the airflow can be adjusted in multiple steps on each side of the chilled beam. Our solution features clever engineering, and was designed to stand the test of time. The requested airflow can be selected in our selection software, and is factory pre-set, but can also easily be changed on-site.
As standard, PremiAir is equipped with AirFlex air deflectors, which can be manually and individually adjusted on each side of the air slots. AirFlex allows the operator to easily adjust the direction and throw distance of the discharged conditioned air. With the fine-tuning capabilities of the AirFlex deflectors, in combination with the variable nozzles, a highly flexible, pleasant and draftfree indoor climate is easily achieved.
- Less risk of draft
- Shorter throw length
- Individually adjustable
Installation
Opening the front panel
Pull the locking tabs in the direction indicated by the arrows to open the front panel.
Attention! After unlocking the latches, the front panel will immediately open on its own. Beware of the sudden opening, and make sure to hold the panel to slow its opening in order to prevent accidents and protect the product. The front panels are secured by anti-fall cables, which only allow them to open to a certain point.
Mounting
The suspension brackets on the product are suitable for mounting with threaded rods or hook suspension rods. Before installation, the suspension brackets must be rotated, positioned, and secured with a self-tapping screw, as they are not in the correct position for installation during transportation.
Commissioning
Attention! The connection of the product’s water and air hose fittings should be carried out by a qualified professional! Threaded solder ends and duct fittings are not included. The unit can be connected to the water and air duct networks with horizontal or vertical connections.
